Unique Numbers

When Notre Dame enrolls you as a student, the University assigns you a number called your ndID number. Your ndID number provides access to a variety of resources, including a NetID that allows you to use services such as email, campus networks, shared file systems, and the insideND portal.

How do I get my ndID number

Students new to Notre Dame will be given their ndID number through a confirmation email after their application has been received and processed.  

How do I get my NetID

Students new to Notre Dame will go through an activation process to obtain their NetID. The activation process involves completing a responsible use policy, entering their ndID number, and entering their date-of-birth. Students will create a password during this process.

How do I get my Notre Dame ID card

Students should go to the Campus Card Office located at 423 Grace Hall to obtain their Notre Dame ID card. A government-issued license or passport and ndID number is required in order to obtain the ID card.

What should I do if I do not know my ndID number?

  • Students should contact the Office of the Summer Session

What should I do if I receive an error activating my netID?

  • Students should contact the Office of the Summer Session to make sure they were given the correct ndID number and should verify the date-of-birth is correct in the system
     
  • Students should notify the Office of the Summer Session if they were previously affiliated with the University as a student or employee (discuss the possibility of being previoulsy affiliated under a different name)

What should I do if I am told I am I am not listed as an active student in the Campus Card Office's system?

  • Students should contact the Office of the Summer Session or the Office of the Registrar.
